Travelers taking to the skies this Thanksgiving can expect full or almost-full planes, says the Air Transport Association.

The trade group representing the nation’s airlines says the busiest day for travel will be Sunday, November 30, as travelers return home. The next busiest travel days are expected on Monday, December 1, and Wednesday, November 26, respectively.

On those days, the ATA expects planes to be running at about 90 percent capacity.

Although overall numbers are expected to be down from previous years, thanks in part to capacity cuts by the airlines, ATA President James C. May says Thanksgiving remains “the busiest travel time of the year for airlines.”
