It was almost one hundred years ago that a U.S. President first took to the skies. Theodore Roosevelt flew by plane in October 1910. He was no longer in office but was credited as being the first American President to fly. Today, when the President travels he does so in style, on Air Force One.

Few Americans will ever travel onboard the presidential aircraft. However, there are a number of retired Air Force One planes which the public can view, and even board, for an inside look. AeroChannel visited several of these planes. Click on the Quicktime video in the upper right to see our report on the Air Force One experience.
