Secretary of Homeland Security Tours LAX

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff is touring Los Angeles International Airport this afternoon.
Secretary Chertoff is inspecting new security improvements at LAX, and meeting with local officials including Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Congresswoman Jane Harman.
During his visit, Chertoff will examine new security barriers at Terminal 1 as well as the new Customs Arrival Hall at the Tom Bradley Terminal.
For their part, airport officials are requesting that more Customs and Immigration officers be added at LAX to help reduce wait times.
